Haryana’s contribution to India’s sporting achievements and its rich religious and cultural heritage have taken centre stage in the eighth edition of the PM Mementos e-Auction, with seven mementos from the state included in the collection.
Five of the seven items are related to sports, including memorabilia presented by three Paralympic gold medallists, while the remaining items highlight Haryana’s religious and cultural traditions.
The mementos are open for public bidding, with the proceeds from the auction to be used for the Namami Gange Project.
Paralympic champions’ memorabilia up for auction
Among the featured items is an arrow presented by Harwinder Singh, who became the first Indian to win a Paralympic gold medal in archery.
The collection also includes two mementos associated with Navdeep Singh, who won gold in the men’s F41 javelin throw event at the Paris 2024 Paralympics. His cap and signed shirt are part of the auction, offering bidders an opportunity to own memorabilia linked to his sporting achievement.
Another highlight is an authentic Yonex badminton racket and India team shirt presented by Paralympic badminton gold medallist Nitesh Kumar.
Together, the sporting memorabilia showcase Haryana’s contribution to India’s success on the international Paralympic stage and celebrate the perseverance and achievements of its athletes.
Religious and cultural heritage
The collection also includes items reflecting Haryana’s religious and cultural identity.
A metal statue of Goddess Sheetala Devi, crafted from high-quality metal, features intricate detailing and a lustrous finish.
Another memento is a souvenir commemorating the Gita Updesh Sthali of Dharmakshetra Kurukshetra, highlighting Haryana’s association with the Bhagavad Gita and its cultural and spiritual heritage.
The seven mementos from Haryana thus bring together diverse aspects of the state, from sporting excellence and Paralympic achievements to its religious and cultural traditions.
The PM Mementos e-Auction gives members of the public an opportunity to bid for these items while contributing to a larger public cause, as the auction proceeds will support the Namami Gange Project.
