Sultan of Oman embarks on a three-day diplomatic visit to India

Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman will arrive in New Delhi on Friday evening for a three-day state visit to India. Accompanied by a high-level delegation, including senior ministers and officials, Sultan Tarik is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday.

The Ministry of External Affairs underscored the importance of Sultan Tarik’s maiden state visit, characterizing it as a significant milestone in the diplomatic ties between India and Oman.

External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar is scheduled to meet with Sultan Tarik Friday evening, setting the stage for the ceremonial welcome at Rashtrapati Bhawan on Saturday morning. The visiting dignitary is also expected to meet with President Droupadi Murmu later in the evening.

India and Oman share a longstanding history of amicable friendship and cooperation, underpinned by mutual trust, respect, and enduring people-to-people connections spanning centuries. As strategic partners, both nations have seen flourishing bilateral trade and investment relations over the years. This visit presents an opportunity to further explore collaborative avenues between India and Oman, contributing to regional stability, progress, and prosperity.
