To celebrate and promote the rich handloom saree culture of India, Union Minister of State for Textiles Darshana Jardosh will inaugurate the ‘One Bharat Sari Walkathon’ event in Mumbai on December 10.

The event, scheduled to take place at the MMRDA Ground, aims to showcase the myriad styles of saree draping across different states, underlining the rich cultural tapestry of India and emphasizing the concept of ‘Unity in Diversity.’

Jardosh expressed the importance of this event, where women from diverse backgrounds will elegantly display saris representing their regional styles, creating a beautiful mosaic of diversity.

Featuring a variety of activities, the event will coincide with an exhibition and sales event titled “Gandhi Shilp Bazaar- National,” organized to further promote the handloom saree culture in India. Women from different strata of society are invited to participate, showcasing distinctive ways of draping the saree and reinforcing the concept of “Unity in Diversity.”

Anticipating the participation of over 5000 women from diverse fields, including professionals, Bollywood and television personalities, sports figures, businesswomen, designers, influencers, housewives, and women from the music industry, the event promises to be a grand celebration of cultural richness. This follows the success of the Sari Walkathon in Surat.
