Ministry of Tourism, Government of India, is participating in FITUR, a prominent global travel exhibition taking place from January 24th to 28th in Madrid, Spain.
The Incredible India pavilion, spanning an impressive 315 square meters, was inaugurated on January 24th by Dinesh K. Pattanaik, Ambassador of India to Spain, in the presence of Anmol Gagan Mann, Minister of Tourism from the Government of Punjab, and other dignitaries from both the Union Government and State Governments.
With a substantial delegation comprising representatives from the Union Government, State Governments, and private travel stakeholders, India aims to boost inbound tourism to pre-pandemic levels from key source markets worldwide. The pavilion at FITUR is one of the largest in recent years, featuring over 40 co-exhibitors, including prominent State Governments such as Punjab, Jharkhand, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Kerala, Madhya Pradesh, and Karnataka.
FITUR, attracting over 150,000 visitors annually, serves as a premier international event in the tourism sector, drawing travel agencies, tour operators, airlines, hoteliers, cruise lines, travel technology providers, and tourism boards. The Incredible India Pavilion serves as a platform for the private tour operator industry to connect globally, showcasing a diverse range of tourism products and destinations.
India’s focus at the exhibition is to highlight its varied tourism offerings, emphasizing cultural, wellness, and culinary heritage. The pavilion positions India as a significant MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions), wedding, and wellness destination in the region.
Visitors to the pavilion have been captivated by rich traditional and cultural displays, including Yoga sessions, classical dance performances, and Mehendi applications. These activities aim to showcase the vibrant cultural traditions of India and have garnered considerable attention.
Spain holds particular importance as a source market for India, with foreign tourist arrivals from Spain nearly reaching pre-pandemic levels.
