PM Modi engages with Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra beneficiaries, marks 50-day milestone

Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with the beneficiaries of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra through video conferencing on Monday. Addressing thousands of participants, including Union Ministers, MPs, MLAs, and local representatives, PM Modi celebrated the Yatra’s 50-day milestone, connecting with approximately 11 crore people.

Describing the Yatra as transformative for both the government and the nation, PM Modi emphasized the extensive reach of “Modi Ki Guarantee ki Gadi,” providing essential benefits to previously underserved populations. The prime minister stressed the government’s commitment to empowering the poor, farmers, women, and youth—the four pillars of the nation’s strength.

Highlighting the success of the Yatra, PM Modi cited figures such as 12 lakh new applications for Ujjwala connections and substantial participation in various schemes like Suraksha Bima Yojana, Jeevan Jyoti Yojana, and PM SVANidhi. The Yatra has facilitated health checkups for over 2 crore people, addressing issues such as TB and sickle cell, with a focus on reaching marginalized communities.

PM Modi discussed advancements in women’s empowerment, citing initiatives like the Mudra Yojna, where 10 crore women joined self-help groups in the last decade, receiving over Rs 7.5 lakh crore. He also highlighted the NaMo Drone Didi Scheme, demonstrating the government’s commitment to integrating new technologies.

Regarding agriculture, PM Modi outlined efforts to support farmers, including the transfer of at least Rs 30,000 through PM Kisan Samman Nidhi and the promotion of cooperation in agriculture with organizations like PACS and FPO. He reiterated the government’s goal to reduce reliance on imported pulses, supporting domestic farmers.

Commending the dedicated team behind the Yatra, PM Modi encouraged a collective effort to propel India towards becoming a developed nation. Since its launch on November 15, 2023, the Yatra has seen regular interactions with beneficiaries, both through video conferencing and physical visits. On January 5, 2024, the Yatra achieved a significant milestone, surpassing 10 crore participants within 50 days, reflecting its widespread impact and ability to unite the nation towards a developed India.
