Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel recovered the body of a man with 40 gold bars, weighing 5.2 kilograms, from the Ichamoti river in Jessore district of Bangladesh on Wednesday.
The body of Moshiar Rahman, a resident of Goga Harishchandrapur village under Jessore District, was spotted by locals floating in the river and they informed the BGB and Police, said BGB officials.
According to locals and police, Moshiar drowned in the river while he was trying to smuggle the gold to India through the Pipli frontier on Sunday afternoon, reports Daily Observer.
Meanwhile, the family members of the deceased person accused three local persons of conspiracy.
The BGB officials said that the body was then handed over to Local Police Station to take further actions in this regard.
