IMD predicts rainfall and thunderstorms across east and central India for the next four days

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast indicating rainfall and thunderstorms sweeping across East and Central India over the course of the next four days. According to the IMD, a widespread occurrence of rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of up to 40 kilometres per hour, is anticipated in regions spanning West Bengal, Jharkhand, Odisha, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, and Madhya Pradesh until the 20th of this month.

In addition, light rainfall and snowfall are expected to blanket the Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and North-East India for the next six days. Furthermore, the IMD has projected similar weather conditions, including light rainfall and snowfall, over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, and Himachal Pradesh on the 21st of the month.

Regarding South India, the weather agency foresees maximum temperatures remaining stable over certain areas for the next three to four days. However, it anticipates a continuation of hot and humid weather in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, and Andhra Pradesh over the next two days. Moreover, the IMD predicts a marginal change in maximum temperatures over East India for the following two days, followed by a subsequent decrease of 2 to 4 degrees Celsius. Conversely, in West and Northwest India, maximum temperatures are expected to rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over the next three to four days. Finally, no significant alterations in maximum temperatures are anticipated in the remaining parts of the country over the next four days.
