Indian benchmark indices opened on a weak note on Friday after reaching record highs the previous day.
The Nifty 50 fell 0.45% to 24,193.05 points, while the Sensex declined 0.58% to 79,591.47 points as of 9:23 a.m.
HDFC Bank lost 3%, dragging financials, private banks, and bank indexes down 0.7%-1%.
Cipla, Tata Motors, Bajaj Auto, Hindalco Industries, and Wipro were among the major gainers on the Nifty, while top losers were HDFC Bank, M&M, Titan Company, Tata Steel, and Coal India.
