Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Wednesday launched “Hauslon Ki Udaan”, a talent hunt initiative aimed at identifying and nurturing the hidden talents of young people across the national capital.
The campaign will be conducted across all 70 Assembly constituencies in Delhi and is expected to see participation from more than 25,000 youths, according to the government.
Under the programme, competitions will be organised in multiple categories, including singing, dance, theatre, fine arts, digital art, instrumental music and other music-related disciplines. Selected participants will be shortlisted for further support and development under the government initiative.
Speaking at the launch, Gupta said the objective of the scheme is to identify talented youth, refine their skills and help them move forward.
She said the Delhi government is working to ensure that young people in the city can build a distinct identity through their talent, creativity and hard work.
Delhi Cabinet Minister Kapil Mishra and senior officials from various departments were also present at the event.
Mishra, who handles the Arts and Culture portfolio, said the initiative aims to provide opportunities and recognition to talented youth from across Delhi.
“The core objective of this unique campaign is to discover, nurture, and provide a strong platform to the creative talents of those gifted young individuals living in Delhi’s slums, alleys, and colonies, so that they can establish their identity at national and international levels,” he said.
He added that the Delhi government would support the selected youth by providing assistance and resources to help them succeed and gain recognition in society.
As part of the initiative, the government will also launch an online portal for registrations. Individuals in the 16–35 age group will be eligible to participate in the talent hunt programme.
