Panama’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, Javier Eduardo Martinez-Acha Vasquez, will pay an official visit to India from July 19 to 23, accompanied by his wife, Mireya Paris De Martinez Acha, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Friday.
The Panamanian Foreign Minister is scheduled to arrive in New Delhi in the early hours of Sunday.
During the visit, Martinez-Acha Vasquez will hold a series of high-level meetings with senior Indian ministers aimed at strengthening bilateral ties.
On Monday, he will meet Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal at the New Parliament Building. Later in the evening, he is scheduled to hold talks with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar at Hyderabad House.
The delegation will remain in Delhi on Tuesday for official engagements.
On Wednesday, the Panamanian Foreign Minister will meet Union Minister for Ports, Shipping and Waterways Sarbananda Sonowal at Transport Bhavan.
Earlier this year, Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi met Panama’s Commerce and Industry Minister Julio Armando Molto Alain and Foreign Minister Javier Eduardo Martinez-Acha Vasquez on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2026 in Davos. The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in the renewable energy sector, including clean energy solutions, sustainable technologies and expanding investment partnerships to support the global energy transition.
In a post on X after the meeting, Joshi described the discussions as constructive and said both sides explored ways to deepen collaboration in clean energy and sustainable technologies.
The visit also comes against the backdrop of growing bilateral engagement. Last year, India and Panama entered a new phase in their ties with the establishment of a 20-member India-Panama Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group. The two countries have traditionally shared cordial relations, underpinned by mutual understanding, expanding bilateral trade and broad-based cooperation.
