Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Rajasthan and Gujarat on July 4, during which he will launch, dedicate and lay the foundation stone for development projects covering sectors such as aviation, petrochemicals, urban transport, railways, highways, renewable energy, power transmission and semiconductor manufacturing.
The Prime Minister’s itinerary includes Jodhpur, Balotra and Sanand (Ahmedabad), where he will also address public gatherings.
PM Modi’s itinerary
According to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the visit will begin in Jodhpur at around 10:45 a.m., where PM Modi will inaugurate the new terminal building at Jodhpur Airport and launch the Modified UDAN Scheme.
He will then travel to Balotra, where at around 12:15 p.m., he will dedicate, inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth nearly ₹1.06 lakh crore, followed by a public address.
Later in the day, the Prime Minister will reach Sanand in Gujarat, where at around 4:30 p.m., he will inaugurate the CG Semi Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) Facility and address another gathering.
Major aviation push in Jodhpur
The Prime Minister will launch the Modified UDAN Scheme, marking the next phase of India’s regional aviation programme aimed at enhancing connectivity and making air travel more accessible under the vision of “Ude Desh Ka Aam Nagrik.”
With an allocation of ₹28,840 crore over the next ten years, the revamped scheme seeks to strengthen regional aviation infrastructure and services across the country.
The programme envisages development of 100 aerodromes from existing unserved airstrips with an investment of over ₹12,000 crore; more than ₹2,500 crore for operations and maintenance support to regional airports; construction of 200 modern helipads to improve connectivity in remote and difficult terrains; continuation of Viability Gap Funding (VGF) worth over ₹10,000 crore to support regional airline operations; and promotion of indigenous aviation platforms, including HAL Dhruv helicopters and Dornier aircraft, in line with the government’s Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative.
PM Modi will also inaugurate the new terminal building at Jodhpur Airport, constructed at a cost of ₹480 crore.
Spread across more than 23,000 square metres, the terminal is capable of handling 20 lakh passengers annually and features modern passenger amenities for seamless travel.
Inspired by Rajasthan’s royal architectural heritage, the terminal blends traditional elements such as arches and jharokhas with contemporary design while incorporating energy-efficient systems, water conservation measures and green building practices aimed at securing a 5-Star GRIHA rating.
The new terminal is expected to boost tourism, trade and employment across western Rajasthan.
₹1.06 lakh crore development projects in Balotra
In Balotra, PM Modi will unveil one of the country’s biggest infrastructure packages by dedicating, inaugurating and laying the foundation stone for projects worth around ₹1.06 lakh crore across multiple sectors.
India’s first greenfield integrated Refinery-cum-Petrochemical Complex
The Prime Minister will dedicate to the nation India’s first greenfield integrated Refinery-cum-Petrochemical Complex at Pachpadra.
Developed as a joint venture between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) and the Government of Rajasthan, the 9 Million Metric Tonnes Per Annum (MMTPA) refinery has been established at an investment of over ₹79,450 crore.
The state-of-the-art complex integrates refining and petrochemical production, featuring a petrochemical capacity of 2.4 MMTPA, a Nelson Complexity Index of 17, and petrochemical yields exceeding 26 per cent, placing it among globally advanced refining facilities.
The refinery is expected to significantly strengthen India’s energy security, reduce dependence on petrochemical imports, drive industrial growth and serve as the anchor industry for a proposed Petrochemical and Plastic Park in the region, generating large-scale employment and promoting ancillary industries.
Jaipur Metro Phase-II
PM Modi will also lay the foundation stone for Phase II of the Jaipur Metro Rail Project, estimated to cost over ₹13,000 crore.
The project will develop a 41-km north-south metro corridor connecting Prahladpura to Todi Mod through 36 stations, linking major residential, industrial and commercial hubs, including Sitapura Industrial Area, Vishwakarma Industrial Area (VKI), Jaipur Airport, Tonk Road, SMS Hospital, SMS Stadium, Ambabari and Vidyadhar Nagar.
The corridor is expected to provide faster, safer and more efficient public transport for Jaipur’s growing population. The existing 11.64-km Phase-I corridor with 11 stations is already operational.
Rail and highway infrastructure
The Prime Minister will dedicate the Churu-Sadulpur (58 km) and Churu-Ratangarh (46 km) rail doubling projects, developed at a cost of around ₹900 crore.
The combined 104-km rail expansion is expected to improve freight and passenger movement, enhance punctuality, increase line capacity and support industrial development in north-west Rajasthan.
He will also inaugurate the four-laning of NH-125A (Karwar-Dangiyawas section of Jodhpur Ring Road), completed at a cost of approximately ₹740 crore, improving regional connectivity and road safety around Jodhpur.
Renewable energy and power infrastructure
PM Modi will dedicate SJVN Limited’s 1,000 MW Bikaner Solar Energy Project, developed with an investment of around ₹5,500 crore using 24.22 lakh domestically manufactured solar modules.
He will also dedicate NHPC’s 300 MW Karnisar Bikaner Solar Energy Plant, which has been built using around 7.75 lakh indigenous solar PV cells and modules.
In addition, the Prime Minister will inaugurate a power transmission line constructed at a cost exceeding ₹1,900 crore for evacuating renewable energy from the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Zone (REZ) and lay the foundation stone for a 530-km-long transmission system, which will facilitate renewable energy integration and ensure uninterrupted electricity supply.
Appointment letters to 54,000 youth
During the programme, PM Modi will distribute appointment letters to around 54,000 newly recruited youth across various Rajasthan government departments, including education, energy, home, panchayati raj, transport, higher education, agriculture, skill development, information technology and administrative reforms.
Semiconductor milestone in Gujarat
In the final leg of the visit, PM Modi will inaugurate the CG Semi Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test (OSAT) Facility at Sanand near Ahmedabad.
Developed with an investment of over ₹7,500 crore, the project is among the first four semiconductor manufacturing facilities approved under the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM).
The facility represents one of India’s first end-to-end OSAT units, offering semiconductor assembly, wafer sorting, testing, package design, product characterisation, failure analysis, test programme development and logistics support.
Once fully operational, the plant will have the capacity to manufacture up to 5 billion semiconductor chips annually, serving customers in the automotive, industrial, telecommunications, 5G, artificial intelligence and Internet of Things (IoT) sectors.
The commencement of commercial production at the Sanand facility marks a major milestone in India’s semiconductor manufacturing journey and reinforces the country’s efforts to emerge as a trusted global hub for semiconductor production under the vision of a self-reliant technology ecosystem.
