MOS V. Muraleedharan engages with Indian community in Oman, Strengthens Bilateral Ties

V. Muraleedharan, Minister of State for External Affairs, addressed the thriving Indian community in Muscat, reflecting on India’s significant advancements during the period of ‘Amritkaal’ under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. While addressing the community, the Minister emphasized the pivotal role that the Indian diaspora in Oman plays, considering them an indispensable part of the broader Indian global family. Muraleedharan provided insights into India’s successful G20 presidency, shed light on the historic achievements of India’s Moon mission, and highlighted the nation’s transformative shift towards self-reliance, aiming for a prosperous and robust Bharat.

Further fortifying bilateral relations, Muraleedharan engaged in a crucial dialogue with Said Al Saqri, Oman’s Minister of Economy. They collaboratively explored potential avenues of cooperation and discussed essential facets of the India-Oman economic relationship, underscoring the shared commitment to bolstering economic bonds between the two nations. In a poignant cultural exchange, the Minister visited the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque in Muscat, a true masterpiece of architectural elegance. He expressed his admiration for the intricate design and the spiritual ambiance, which takes inspiration from Oman’s rich cultural heritage.

Throughout his visit, Muraleedharan is scheduled to interface with various Indian community organizations in Oman. He will connect with a diverse segment of the Indian community, ranging from professionals, healthcare practitioners, and social workers, to school students, emphasizing the profound impact they have on India-Oman relations and recognizing their contributions in a foreign land.

This is the third official visit of the Minister of State for External Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs V. Muraleedharan to the Sultanate of Oman. During the visit, MoS will hold high-level discussions with the Omani leadership and dignitaries. He will also inaugurate the painting exhibition, “India on Canvas: Masterpieces of Modern Indian Painting” which is a collection of specially curated 20 works of art from the collection of the National Gallery of Modern Art, exhibited in the National Museum of Oman.
