In a bid to assess the impact of recently inaugurated infrastructure projects, Prime Minister Narendra Modi undertook a late-night inspection of the Shivpur-Phulwaria-Lahartara Marg in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

The newly constructed road, built at a cost of Rs 360 crore, has swiftly become a vital artery for the residents of Varanasi, particularly benefiting around 5 lakh individuals residing in the southern part of the city, including areas such as BHU (Banaras Hindu University) and BLW (Banaras Locomotive Works). The road significantly improves connectivity to key destinations such as the airport, Lucknow, Azamgarh, and Ghazipur.

One of the primary objectives of the project is to alleviate traffic congestion in Varanasi. By reducing travel time, the road is expected to enhance the overall ease of living for the citizens of Varanasi. For instance, the commute from BHU to the airport has been slashed from 75 minutes to just 45 minutes, while the journey from Lahartara to Kachahri now takes only 15 minutes instead of the previous 30 minutes.

PM Modi, upon inspecting the road, expressed his satisfaction with the project’s impact on the city’s residents. Taking to social media platform X, he shared his observations, noting the significant benefits the newly inaugurated road has brought to the southern part of Varanasi.
