After concluding a three-day visit to the United States, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to hold a rally in Haryana’s Sonipat on Wednesday, ahead of the upcoming state assembly elections.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister expressed that the people of Haryana are prepared to give the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) a decisive victory in the state polls. “Haryana has made up its mind to ensure a landslide victory for the BJP in the assembly elections. In this atmosphere of enthusiasm and excitement in the celebration of democracy, we will have the good fortune of receiving the blessings of the people at the rally in Sonipat tomorrow at 12 noon,” PM Modi posted.
The election for Haryana’s 90-member legislative assembly will take place on October 5, with votes being counted on October 8, in conjunction with Jammu and Kashmir.
Earlier today, PM Modi returned to Delhi after what was described as a “very intense and successful” visit to the United States. During the trip, he attended the Quad Leaders Summit in US President Joe Biden’s hometown of Delaware, delivered remarks at the United Nations ‘Summit of The Future,’ and held bilateral meetings with several global leaders.
In a post earlier today, PM Modi reflected on the US visit, calling it “fruitful” and mentioning that it covered a range of topics aimed at improving the world. He shared a brief video highlighting his engagements, from the Quad Summit to bilateral meetings with President Biden and other leaders. The video also featured his interaction with the Indian diaspora and American business leaders, as well as his address at the United Nations.
The Prime Minister also recalled a notable moment when, in response to a question about the longevity of the Quad beyond the US elections in November, President Biden stated it would last “way beyond November” while warmly gesturing towards PM Modi.
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri, addressing the media in New York, described the visit as “very intense and successful.”
