PM Modi to inaugurate and lay foundation stone for multiple development projects in Delhi on Friday

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for several key development projects in Delhi on Friday. These include new residential flats, urban redevelopment initiatives, and educational infrastructure aimed at enhancing the city’s growth and living standards.

He will visit the newly constructed flats for residents of Jhuggi Jhopri clusters under the in-situ slum rehabilitation project at Swabhiman Apartments in Ashok Vihar, Delhi, on Friday, according to an official statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO).

At around 12:45 PM, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for multiple development projects in the city, the PMO added.

The Prime Minister will inaugurate 1,675 newly constructed flats for residents of JJ clusters and hand over keys to eligible beneficiaries at Swabhiman Apartments.

This marks the completion of the second successful in-situ slum rehabilitation project by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), aiming to provide better living conditions with essential amenities for JJ cluster residents.

The government’s expenditure for each flat stands at Rs 25 lakh, with eligible beneficiaries contributing less than 7% of the cost. This includes a nominal contribution of Rs 1.42 lakh and Rs 30,000 for five years of maintenance.

Additionally, the Prime Minister will inaugurate two urban redevelopment projects: the World Trade Centre (WTC) at Nauroji Nagar and the general pool residential accommodation (GPRA) Type-II quarters at Sarojini Nagar.

The WTC project at Nauroji Nagar has transformed the area, replacing over 600 dilapidated quarters with state-of-the-art commercial towers offering 34 lakh square feet of premium commercial space.

The project incorporates sustainable practices, including zero-discharge, solar energy generation, and rainwater harvesting systems.

The GPRA Type-II quarters at Sarojini Nagar consist of 28 towers housing over 2,500 residential units, designed with modern amenities and eco-conscious features such as rainwater harvesting, sewage and water treatment plants, and solar-powered waste compactors.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the CBSE’s integrated office complex at Dwarka, Delhi, built at a cost of around Rs 300 crore.

The eco-friendly complex includes offices, an auditorium, an advanced data center, and comprehensive water management systems, constructed to meet the platinum rating standards of the Indian Green Building Council.

In addition, Prime Minister Modi will lay the foundation stone for three new projects at Delhi University, worth over Rs 600 crore.

These include an academic block at the Eastern Campus in Surajmal Vihar, an academic block at the Western Campus in Dwarka, and the construction of Veer Savarkar College at Roshanpura, Najafgarh, which will feature state-of-the-art educational facilities.
